Royal Trip to Worcester.

Worcester Cathedral. Posted by Hello

On 5th of April, 5 of us(Claire, Jessica, Rita, Titan and I) finally travelled together to Worcester. Worcester has at least 2 main attractions for visitors: Worcester Cathedral and Royal Worcester Porcelain. However, I just noticed there is one must-see museum at Worcester--the birthplace museum of Edward Elgar, the greatest composer in England. Anyway, you could find his photo on the back of 20 pounds note.

Due to the changable weather, the first thing we did at Worcester was shopping. You would not imagine how chilly the early April was in UK. Titan did not bring any warm enough jacket here, therefore, he was almost freezing to death before he got that warm and cheap jacket. We looked around the shops in the city centre area of Worcester before we heading to the attractions.

Worcester is a city surrounded by river Severn. It shall be a great experience to walk along the riverside during summer time. However, we enjoyed a bit walking along the riverside, taking some nice photos and seeing many swans and geeses in the river. The famous worcester cathedral is located by the river Severn. I love going to churches, cathedrals and domes for the feeling of peace even I am not a Christian or Catholic. Photography is prohibited inside worcester cathedral, however, you could ask for the permission by paying a fee (free for students). We had a 1 minute silent mourning for Pope John Paul II to express our great sadness. We also light candles which wish to bring more hope to the whole world.

We had heard so much about the Royal Worcester Porcelain. What is Royal Worcester Porcelain? It means that the part of china and porcelain production there are designed for Royal family in UK. I am the person who love afternoon tea and coffee so much. It would be just great to have a whole set of tea/coffee porcelain. Therefore, you could tell how hard I must try and force myself not to bring even one cup back with me. I am sure that I would like to get them all back if I can :P Just imagine this: drinking a cup of Earl Gray tea with nice and elegant tea cup would make the day even brighter and more beautiful.

There are many unknown cities and towns by tourists in UK and Worcester could be one of them. I am glad to visit Worcester with good friends. There are more to be discovered in UK, not just well-known cities and towns. Each city and town has its own attractions/features and they may create different pictures to every tourist---please enjoy as much as you can wherever you go.
