Cream Tea at Roger's Tearoom...

Jennifer with Cream tea at Roger's Tearoom in Exeter.

After sitting in the classrooms, listening to a bit boring paper presented for 2 days, we thought that we need to get some fresh air. Therefore, we decided to skip some of the papers presentations for just a few hours to go to a famous tea house for AFTERNOON TEA. Sabina got the information from her friend who used to studied in Exeter and highly recommended us must go there. So, Kitty, Sabina and I decided to have a classic teatime at Roger's Tearoom. We got lost at least twice on the way to Roger's Tearoom, however, it is so famous that as soon as we said its name, everyone in Exeter would be able to show you where it is and tell you that they serve very good cream tea there. HAHA....I think that we would have a great cream tea then.

When you walk into Roger's Tearoom, you would feel the warm, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. There are about 10 tables with meuns hanging on the ceiling in Roger's Tearoom. Roger's Tearoom is running by a lovely couple and they are very kind and friendly to every guest. After we ordered our cream tea, there came two mums with two babies. I saw the boss, Roger, of course, brough in a huge basket of toys for babies to play with. What a nice place and generous boss!!

Cream Tea!! What is that? It means that you would have some scones with English tea, such as Earl Gray, English Breakfest and so forth. Normally, scones come with butter, jam and cream. The traditional way of tasting scone is you cut it into half first. Put some butter, then jam and then the cream on top of jam. It is so yammy....Kitty, Sabina and I did not feel bad at all after sitting in Roger's Tearoom and enjoying the great cream tea in that beautiful afternoon. It is so good to get back to life---I felt that I was locked in a castle or something like that for the tight schedule of the conference.

Have another sip of Lady Gray Tea and another bite of scone...hmmmm....how nice :P
