Pantheon

Pantheon with French Flags Posted by Picasa

The 3rd day and also a very important day to French people, 14th of July, their National Day. Peggy and I could not make the morning parade; however, we determine to make it for the firework later tonight. We went to several places before queuing and waiting for the firework, such as Pantheon (again!!!), Hotel des Invalides, Musee Rodin and Arc de Triomphe which we did not make it last night.

Pantheon, as I mentioned earlier on that we went more than twice but still did not have the chance to climb up to its tower to have another better angle of seeing Paris. Pantheon nowadays has become honours of the temple for great men of the modern nation. Victor Hugo, Emile Zola, Marguerit Voltaire, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau were buried here.

Hotel des Invalides

Eglise du Dome. Posted by Picasa

Hotel des Invalides is Army Museum where exhibited the weapons, emblems and uniforms from 1650 to 1945. Apart from that, the more attractive stuff may be Eglise du Dome (Napoleon’s Tomb). Napoleon’s body was transferred from the island of St. Helena to Paris in 1840. And Eglise du Dome was chosen to house his tomb. Here, you could be able to know Napoleon’s military achievements and his status in French History.

Musee Rodin

Being a Thinker.. Posted by Picasa

Musee Rodin is not too far away from Hotel des Invalides so that we walked to enter another world of ART. Rodin’s major and famous works, such as: the Thinker, the Gates of Hell and Balzac are displayed in the garden. However, there are nearly 500 of Rodin’s sculptures are shown to the public inside the museum. Rodin’s works are focus on catching the feeling, the movement of that particular moment which made his work unique. Take a clearly look at the Thinker and you will notice his careful but powerful work which showed the spirit of the sculptures.

14th of July in Paris

Firework on Toue Eiffel... Posted by Picasa

Yeah!! Time for firework!! I love to watch fireworks so much and I would not miss the any chances of watching it. I watched summer firework in Yokohama last year and of course, I won’t miss the firework here in Paris this year. We went to find a good spot for enjoying the firework around 930 that night. We already could feel the happy and exciting atmosphere from the crowds when we walked off the metro. We thought that we could be able to get a good spot near the Tour Eiffel, however, the crowds were already occupied all the great spots around Tour Eiffel. We walked along the river and found the nice view by the riverbank afterwards. From where we were, we could see the metro/trains passed by Tour Eiffel and also the Tour Eiffel’s reflection in the river. The main roads toward Tour Eiffel were blocked and only pedestrians were allowed to walk through. We saw a lot of French people were sitting in the middle of the roads with wines, foods and games. What a Party!!

After waiting for quite a while, finally….we heard some sounds from far away and then we saw the fireworks over the Tour Eiffel. Tour Eiffel is very beautiful at nights; however, it looks much more beautiful and attractive with fireworks to me. Colourful fireworks and blinking lightings dressed the Tour Eiffel much more appealing to crowds. The beauty of firework would not last long and I believe that is why I love enjoying firework so much because you must concentrate on catching it as much as you could. In addition, I would be able to cherish the very moment when the fireworks were displayed. It is just like everything must have the end, however, as long as you ever work hard, ever possess, ever blossom—that is eternity.
