波蘭的歷史之都--Krakow

Market Square, Krakow, Poland

My first time in Poland and the first city I visit in Poland--Krakow. The reason of getting to know more about Poland and Krakow are because of Maggie's boyfriend--Sebastian and my interests in the Holocaust. When I arrive in this city in that early morning after taking 8 hours of night train. I was so tired for not sleeping too well on the train. However, I must try to use my time in visiting this city as efficient as possible.
I walk around the city centre of Krakow and spend a few time to the castle area. Unfortunately, the weather is cloudy, windy and quite chill plus I am so tired that I couldn't focus on my sightseeing. Therefore, I go back to the accommodation earlier the first day in Krakow.
Krakow is well-known the most beautiful Polish city, and unusual city and the heart of Poland. In addition, there are lots of historical stories behind this remarkable city. Due to not knowing too much histories about Poland, it has been my problem while travelling around it. There are always something we could take away with us through visiting a city, a country and a culture. Only when you understand the background of the city, country and culture you could really realise and comprehend why and how they had developed to what you see today.
I will share more experience of this city, Krakow, through my coming blog entries.
As you could see from the picture showed the Market Square which is located in the heart of the city centre. The Krakow Market Square, one of the largest medieval squares in Europe, was laid out when the city's location charter was signed in 1257. In the Market Square, there are Cloth hall, town hall, St. Mary church and lots of various shops. The Cloth hall situated in the middle of Market Square and the cloth stands with a large shopping hall which erected in the 14th century.
I enjoy so much walking casually around the Market Square almost everyday during my short stay in Krakow. There are quite a lot of restaurants, cafes and other shops. Oh...how much I like this city!!
