I am here, but my heart is there 坐這山,望那山
Before I went to United States in the end of 2000, I never thought that maybe I will love there one day. Why? I don't know. I am kind of more attactive by European cultures. You may ask me then why I decided to go to America. Hahaha....2 reasons: to get my degree and Mr. Wang was there.
However, I didn't start to love New York after I left there in 2003. When I was in New York, I could not see its stong points, I only saw its weak points. Therefore, once I had some holidays, I would just travel to Europe. That could be because I had spent some time in Europe before I went to USA and I must admit that Europe is far more beautiful and interesting than America. And that's why even I stayed in New York longer time than I was in Europe, I couldn't say that I even see the whole New York City. I had no ideas of plenty places in NYC. I looked back about the life I used to have in NYC those years--well, I did spent a lot of time in doing practical jobs in teaching and learning. However, the key reason of not seeing a lot of NYC or America was because I spent too much time travelling back to Europe (I went to UK three times, to Greece, to Italy and Switzerland and went back to Taiwan once as well). From the above, you shall tell how much I love Europe.
Well...but after I went to UK for my further study in 2004. The situation seemed changed. How? I couldn't really know but it just happened. I prefer to spend my Christmas holiday back to New York rather than any cities in Europe. I did think of going somewhere new for Christmas but once I compared it with NYC, I changed my mind. It could be because that Christmas is the best season of visiting New York City and there were too many great memories I had in NYC. Apart from that, I really love to celebrate and welcome the new coming year at Times Square with millions of people from the world. Where am I going to for Christmas next? My answer will always be NEW YORK CITY!!!
That's really funny that when I was in USA, I longed for to Europe. However,when I am in Europe, I want to go back to USA so much. Many friends here in Taiwan would ask me where will be my destination next? To be honest, I have no idea. I still want to fly to somewhere, I still have my dreams and I really want to try out all the possibilities wherever.
Because we are still young, we could still make some mistakes and we could still changelle ourselves----share with you!!
