Rouen Cathedral

Rouen was not on my travel plan list till last night. I had walked around Vernon this town so that I thought that I had better go somewhere else instead of wasting my time in Vernon. Therefore, I picked Rouen for my next destination and it was highly recommended by the 2 girls I met at youth hostel. So…here I am!! It was a pity that I did not have too much time to be there since I already bought the return train tickets. The must-see sight is Rouen Cathedral which also appeared several times in Monet's paintings. It is a quite huge cathedral and it is so beautiful even it is plain inside. I could feel the feeling of peace when I entered the Cathedral. I did not know where else in Rouen I could pay a visit since I knew nothing about this city, however, I killed my time by some window shopping and watching children running and tracing birds in the park. What an easy day!!

盧昂在昨晚以前從未出現在我的旅遊計畫裡.不過,因為我已經繞了維儂小鎮一圈,我想,我還是花點時間到別的地方去看看吧!我選擇到盧昂,再加上兩個在青年旅館遇到的女孩強力推薦它.所以…我就來啦!!可惜的是我沒有多少時間可以好好逛一下盧昂這個城市,因為我的回程火車票早就買好了.必看的是曾在莫內畫作裡出現不少次的盧昂大教堂.盧昂大教堂真的很大,裡面則是平實的美,或許不像其他教堂那麼華麗,還是有其獨特的韻味.我一進到教堂就可以感覺那和平莊嚴的氣氛.由於手邊沒有任何關於盧昂的資料,除了教堂,我也想不到還可以去哪裡,所以,我把時間都花在逛櫥窗和在公園裡看小朋友東跑西跑的追小鳥啦!多輕鬆的一天啊!!

Vernon in France 法國的維儂

Le Vieux Moulin at Vernon.

Vernon is a village town in France. It is very close to the town, Giverny, Monet's garden and house. There is no train station in Giverny, therefore, you must transfer bus from Vernon if you would like to go to Giverny and I believe that is the key reason that Vernon became famous. However, it is also quite worth to take a look at this town. I like its riverside the most and it looked like just like the view I had in Zurich, Switzerland. Walking along the riverside and looking for windmill and something ancient there were what I spent the afternoon there. I enjoyed walking in this little town and sitting by the riverside to look at local people spending their weekend and let my mind wander around—this is the most enjoyment. If I am the Parisian, I shall do this often---hop on the train to Vernon and spend the afternoon or evening there to blow away my worries or anything annoying.

維儂是法國的一個村落鎮.它離吉維尼,莫內的花園和家很近.因為吉維尼沒有火車站,所以,如果你想前往吉維尼就必須在維儂轉換公車,我相信這也是維儂有名的主因吧!不過,維儂還是個很值得一遊的地方.我最喜歡它的河邊,而且其河堤景致並不輸給瑞士的蘇黎士喔!沿著河堤繞圈圈和尋找風車和其他古物是我在維儂的那個下午做的事.我非常享受逛這小鎮和坐在河岸旁看當地居民打發他們的週末並讓我隨意暇想—這真是一大享受啊!!!如果我是巴黎人,我一定會常常這樣做---跳上往維儂的火車並在那裡渡過一個午後或夜晚,讓微風或小鎮風光把煩惱通通拋開.
