Lake Balaton ---巴頓湖

Lake Balaton-Tihany. Posted by Picasa

Another new place I go in Hungary is Lake Balaton. Lake Balaton is the hugest lake in central Europe. Of course, I could not be able to visit the whole lake so I pick Siofok, the closest site from Budapest by train. It takes me 2 hours to get to Siofok, however, my tiredness is gone right after when I see the huge and wideless lake.

How huge the lake Balaton is? It takes me 2 hours to go across to the other side of the lake by ferry. It is so relaxing to lie on the beach and enjoy the sunshine as well as the sea wild blowing over. I take ferry to visit another two islands other than Siofok. They are Balatonfu and Tihany. Balatonfu is really a island for taking a rest to me since there is not too much to see on the island but experience as much as you could on the beach. However, there are quite something to visit in Tihany: the oldest fishman's house, the old chapel and the great scenery on this little island.

Hungary is really a beautiful country and full of different natural resources. I wish that I could have more time to be here and visit more places around the country. Believe me that it would take you a few days to visit around the Lake Balaton and sure, if you like aquatic sports, you will have a lot of fun here. If not, it is still quite enjoyable to sit aside around the beach and enjoy the sunny, fresh air and the views.

Charming Budapest

Chain Bridge Posted by Picasa

Budapest is a very charming city which you would never forget it once you have the chance to visit it in your life. I am still excited while walking towards those famous sites which I went 6 years ago.

Heroes' square with millennium monument (英雄廣場),Halaszbastya (漁夫堡),Parlament(國會大廈), Duna River (多瑙河) and so on are sites where you could experience the beauty of Budapest. I personally like the chain bridge and Duna River the most. Chain bridge(鏈橋), which connected Buda and Pest two cities to be Budapest. However, I am thinking of a more romantic name for it in Chinese—戀橋, which means that a bridge of attachment. Think about that two lovers are walking through the bridge to see each other or walking together across the river to their next destination. Haha…I know that someone may say that I read too many romance. Well…I believe that there must be many lovely stories behind the bridge and city.

After the show of folk dance, after saying goodbye to the nice old couple from the States, I glided back to my hostel. The 2nd day of my journey and I feel so relieved as well as so free as a bird. Looking at the smile faces on the people passed by me, I know that they are curious about me, a foreign tourist—which I felt quite uncomfortable sometimes.

I, anyway, still enjoy travelling alone because I could do whatever I like, go wherever I want to go and stay for as long as I like.
